Pirate Party Ideas

Simple brown bags purchased from Target with crossbones pasted on and crossbone ribbon.  Gift tags made with scrapbooking paper and basic white paper.

A treasure chest borrowed and filled with boxes and then layered in gold shiny paper from the Dollar Tree.  Glue or tape jewels, coins, and other pirate goods.

I ordered a plain cake from Costco and decorated it myself. So easy!

Golf Party for Kids

More pictures to be added....
Typical Costco cake.
Random shots at the local golf course for pictures at table.
We bought some grass carpet at Home Depot and lined the front entryway of the house with signs in the ground that said "Connor" and "19th Hole" and green balloons. Too bad I didn't get a picture when it was set-up. For giveaway prizes for the adults, we gave little tees that said, "Happy 1st Birthday Connor" that I purchased on E-bay.

Star Wars Party Ideas

Here are some ideas for a Star Wars party. I will be adding more pictures as I come across them.
I read about Yoda soda on some other sites, so here is how mine turned out.

For the Darth Vader pinata, I bought a Halloween pinata on clearance for $3.00 and adding a mask, spray painted it black and added a cape made from Shiny material. It wasn't perfect, but it was cheap and the kids loved it!

Gift Bags: I bought colorful bags from Michael's craft store with my coupon. My one regret was making custom gift bags for each person that RSVP'd. As the names would come in, I would label the bag with a marker on the back. But....when one kid didn't show up and another sibling came and needed a goody bag, I had to cross out the name and write a new one.
After the party, I vowed to make generic bags the next time!
I bought star twine and wrapped it around each handle to make it look "spacey."
I printed out clip art of Star Wars characters onto glossy photo paper (from Costco) and pasted them onto the bags while outlining them with silver puffy paint. It actually stuck and didn't fall off.
To make the Darth Vader cape, I bought shiny material from Joann's fabrics and cut them and stapled them to each Darth Doll (printed on photo paper). I covered the staple with silver paint and then added a sparkly red light saber (from pipe cleaner). I also attached the "doll" with a scrap booking clothespin so the kids could remove the Darth doll and play with it.
I ended up making about 45 of these custom bags. They covered our entire dining table!
Here is the invitation I used for this party: http://peekintomyparty.blogspot.com/2008/11/star-wars-invitation.html

Corona Beer Cupcake Cake

I can't take credit for this one. We had a cupcake contest at work and this ALMOST won. So cute and even better if you are having a party for a Corona lover!

Gift Basket Idea for Hotel Stay

When relatives come from out of town, it is nice to give them a gift basket for their hotel room. You can include snacks, beverages, postcards of the area, and local maps. Here is one I made with a box wrapped in wrapping paper. This way, my brother could dipose of it at the end of his stay and it would be recycled. I got the wrapping paper at Dollar Tree and the tulle at Walmart ($.99/yard).

Chili Cookoff Flyer

We had a chili cookoff at work. It was great even though I didn't win.

Cookie Sandwiches for Fall Festival

For the bake sale, I made cookie sandwiches with frosting and individually wrapped each one and added a festive label.

End of Year Teacher Gift

I purchased a pink tin bucket for $1 from Target, wrapped a gift card in tulle and wrapped the bucket in tulle, a bow and a tag. So easy and the teachers were so surprised and pleased. Who doesn't want to be treated like a ballerina?

Little Mermaid Cake and Bucket Gift Bags

My friend recently had a party for her daughter and I just loved her gift bag idea and cake:
